The Bethel Coach Tours WebsiteAfter months of messing with colors, textures, layouts, coding and CSS – the redesign of the Bethel Coach Tours website is finally online! Since it’s first launch in 2000 (ish), the Bethel Coach Tours website has gone through many, many changes. This version however is the most drastic. Not only does it have a design unlike any before it, but it’s also built on WordPress and is fully (well, I still need some work here and there) responsive. This is the first time ever that cell phone users, tablet users and desktop users get to see and use the same exact content.

In the past, like most hard-coded websites, it was stiff, rigid and collapsing content was simply NOT possible. In the end, I feel good about it, perhaps even proud. I was forced to learn new techniques and new methods of creating a responsive WordPress-based website along the way and surely this gained knowledge is going to serve me well as I endeavor to create new web projects that I will likely be just as proud of.

I’m Keeping my Jailbreak

sixpointonepointthreeI’ve got a used iPhone 4s and am still struggling to get it to work here in Ecuador. Thankfully, I am recently seeing some light at the end of the tunnel thanks to the Evasi0n jailbreak. Jailbreaking my iPhone not only gives me the possibility to (finally) be able to use my iPhone as a phone (sheesh), but has also given me the ability to personalize my iPhone to my liking. It now has cool app icon effects, a fancy UI styling thanks to the Legacy theme and a few cool apps only available to jailbroken iPhone/iPod and iPad users, like MovieBox.

This jailbreak is possible for a number of devices and iOS versions, but the just-released version 6.1.3 has patched this, meaning that if I upgrade my iOS, I lose my jailbreak but also the possibility of getting my iPhone to work. So I’ll be sticking with iOS version 6.1.2 In Fact, knowing how Apple works, I decided to jailbreak my iPad2 as well. Because sooner or later, they’re going to stop allowing future iOS updates on the iPad2. It happened with my first gen, so it’s only a matter of time. Might as well benefit from the current jailbreak while I can, right?

UPDATE: March 21, 2013 – I got my iPhone to work! I took it to the iCenter here in Ecuador and they installed a Gevey sim unlock and it works perfectly. Also, I thought I’d offer a tip for fellow jailbreakers to look for and install ‘Software Update Killer’ from within Cydia. That way you dont have to see the pesky badge on the settings app, nor will you be able to accidentally upgrade your iOS version and risk losing your jailbreak.

Who or What is AzuraBond?

On this day in August of 2008, I decided to set up a YouTube account under the name of AzuraBond. It was a compilation of the song ‘Azura’ and ‘Bond’ by the electronic group 808 State from their album, Don Solaris. I’m not really sure why I chose that name, but that is in fact, where it came from.

That album had a huge impact on me some ten years earlier as it was one of the few CD’s I’d carried with me on a trip my parents and I took halfway across the world to visit London and Greece. Even listening to it today, I’m instantly carried back to memories of mixed drinks, short-term relationships, an unbearably hot sun and visions of stumbling around the acropolis as a teenager just ending High School.

My YouTube account (it’s been unattended for some months now) is my place for experiments with visuals and sound; just a place to upload strange stuff as I have the time. I invite you to check it out, like some of my videos and let me know what you think.

Loving this track right now. Generally, I’m really into ambient anyway. I’m a longtime listener to groups such as Autechre, Ochre, Proem, Richard Devine and the like – so stumbling upon this track was fortunate.
